It was Paul’s first time to go south of the city. He spent most of his life up north and only moved to Manila a couple of years ago. I couldn’t help but take a tourist-like photo of him.
Life takes us to a lot of beautiful places. All we have to do is to open our eyes.
p.s. This is my Pokemon Trainer look. I’m out to search the grass to catch me some wild Pokemons!

When all the doors are barred shut, look for windows.
Open doors are too easy to walk through. The problem is that if a person keeps on taking the easy way, there is no growth to be had.
Windows are different. Windows require you to climb and to jump. If it’s closed, take out your axe and do the work. Almost any window can be forced open. People don’t use windows to get to places because it’s too inconvenient. Do it anyway.
Adversity makes a person learn how to frame situations and opportunities differently. In the end, you will end up stronger and will gain a fresher perspective.
Stop waiting for people to open doors for you. Smash those windows. If you get hurt, wear your scars proud. It’s not being proud to be better than anyone else, but being proud that you were able to best the odds. Be proud that you didn’t quit when it got tough.
Give me back those broken pieces and I will assemble them into a beautiful work of art. There is beauty in adversity. In every war, heroes must reach a point of no return where they have no choice but to press on. Without that point, no true song of triumphant victory can be sung.
We, the young, must do our part. Curses can be broken if we stand together.

I got both the tank shirt and the bomber jacket + button-down from Proudrace. These badass babies don’t belong to any of their collections but I managed to snag them off during bazaars. Proudrace is probably one of the very few high street-luxe wear local brands that possess a strong cultural identity. The designers are heavily grounded to their 90’s rock influence and the legendary Fluxxe party days.

The velvet blazer is also from Proudrace for MYTH. It’s my first time wear something velvet! I always thought I could never pull it off but I think that’s a myth. It all lies to how you style it. It’s pretty sick! Street wear meets dapper. I feel like I’m about to sing “There is a light that never goes out…” at any moment.

I got two pieces from Paradigm Shift’s latest collection, Dream Incubation, where they collaborated with Leatherengines. The pieces are so basic but they can be worn into 2-4 ways! For example, in my lookbook, I wore the Paraglider shirt in that way, but it can also be a semi-poncho and a shirt. So sick! FASHION FIELD TRIP
HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS!
Thanks for all the good memories that we shared this year. I love when we talk about so many crazy ideas about art and fashion. I love how much we complain about going to events yet still pretend that we’re having fun. I love it when we hang out in McDonalds after parties and talk about Game of Thrones. I love it when we talk about more personal matters and not all fashion-those are the really good times I had with you guys. I love it when we shoot our brands’s lookbooks, who knew we would be doing these things? Last year we were just dreaming of creating brands of our own. I love it when we had a birthday sleepover at Curve’s house-one of the best nights ever! I love it whenever I see everyone evolve and mature in their own way. I love it when we help each other out when someone’s in need. I love it when we dream about bigger things to come. I love it when we hug each other whenever someone’s discouraged. Whenever I think of those things, I can really say we’re seriously more than just “fashion friends”. We’re a team of talented and creative kids who are pursuing what we love yet at the same time helping each other out along the way. :)
Thank you for all the love and support guys! Hoping for a bigger and brighter 2012!

There are probably a hundred more that I want to put in here but let’s just keep it in my memories. 2011 has been the best for me so far! Aside from breaking away from my corporate job, big things happened this year that I only used to dream before. So many firsts! If this was 2011, I surely can’t wait for 2012!
If I got some readers out there, thank you for being too nice to me! Thanks for reading what I got to say and being patient with not unfollowing me whenever you see my face populating your dashboards. Thank you for reading my ideas and at the same time hearing out my complaints and frustrations. I know I can get annoying sometimes. haha. I’m really glad I met some of you during events and bazaars! More good times next year!
I learned so many things this year but the best lessons that I learned these year are these: always make sure you keep the people who love you for who you are. Always be in the crowd where you don’t have to be someone else you’re not. Be true to who you are whatever happens. Whatever you do and whatever you write, be authentic. Never stop exploring and looking for new styles and inspirations. Copying is never good. Always be honest. Party like you’re forever young!
I wish you guys the best 2012 ever! I think our generation now is very creative and dynamic, don’t waste any opportunity that comes your way!
LAST FRIDAY OF THE YEAR.
Yesterday was the perfect year ender for the best year ever. We went to Tagaytay with the amazing Edric Chen along with other fashion bloggers David Guison, Lissa Kahayon, Bjorn Bedayo, Vern Enciso, Jeshrel Co, and Danika Rio. The theme was 90’s young and free so everyone were dressed up in prints, leather, denim, and so much more!
The shoot’s pretty epic! Most of us haven’t been to an out of town shoot along with fellow fashion bloggers so we’re pretty stoked about it! Best time ever.

My all-time favorite independent brand, Proudrace, just released their S/S 2012, The Gang Of. I can see a chill black summer for Proudrace junkies with their all black collection in cotton, leather, and sheer. I love how they kept their minimal aesthetic grounded, but at the same time still badass f*ck.
WHEN ASKED ABOUT THE INSPIRATION OF THIS COLLECTION, PROUDRACE ANSWERS “IT’S A GANG OF NOMADIC SKATERS AND THEIR TROPHY GIRLFRIENDS”. BUT IT’S MORE COMPLICATED THAN THAT.
THIS SEASON PROUDRACE WAS INSPIRED BY A FEW THINGS: A CURIOSITY WITH THE UNIFORM DRESSING OF VARIOUS RELIGIOUS GROUPS, MEMORIES OF HOUSE OF STYLE , THE SUPERMODELS AND THEIR LOVE FOR TEENAGE YOUTH. ALL OF THESE ARE PRESENTED SUBTLY IN SILHOUETTES OF THROWBACK SKATER CLASSICS BUT STILL STAYING TRUE TO THE PROUDRACE AESTHETIC.

Holiday swim.
Nothing beats a good holiday swim with my favorite people on earth. I may love all things edgy and all things raw, but what I love the most is having all my loved ones with me. When I’m with them I don’t have to wear my heavy boots, nor depend on my leather and studs; I don’t have to shroud myself with skulls & bones, and most definitely I don’t have to pretend that I’m fully grown-up. When I’m with them I become happier with my bare self and stay contented with it. I guess that’s the power of ‘family’.
